Monday
Depart from AIR FRANCE Gateway on transatlantic flight to Paris. All meals and overnight in flight.
Tuesday
Arrive Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, meet our representatives, transfer to the Hotel BREBANT (or similar). Afternoon at leisure, overnight in Paris.
Wednesday
Drive to Montmartre (Mount of the Martyrs), so named because St. Denis, the first Bishop of Paris, was beheaded there in the 3rd Century. Visit the lofty Basilica of Sacre Coeur, built in 1873 when France was dedicated to the Sacred Heart. Drive to Notre Dame Cathedral and visit. In the afternoon, continue to the Left Bank and to the Chapel of the Daughters of Charity, associated with Frederick Ozanam and St. Vincent de Paul and where the Blessed Lady appeared in 1830 to St. Catherine Laboure. Drive now to the north of Paris and the Cathedral of St. Denis, where the first Bishop of Paris is buried. Return to the hotel for overnight.
Thursday
All-day excursion to Lisieux, home of St. Therese, the "Little Flower," a Carmelite nun whose exemplary life was made famous by her diary, "Story of a Soul". Return to Paris for overnight.
Friday
Depart Paris to Nevers, the town in the Burgundy region of France where the totally intact body of St. Bernadette lies in the chapel of the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity since shortly after her Beatification in 1925. Sick pilgrims come to Nevers and are greeted by Chevaliers of Bernadette, a group of 40 believers appointed by the Mother Superior. Dinner and overnight at the HOLIDAY INN Hotel (or similar).
Saturday
Depart Nevers for Avignon, where six Popes were held in the 1309-1378 "Babylonian" captivity by the Kings of France, starting when Philip IV abducted Pope Clement V. Dinner and overnight at the CLOITRE ST. LOUIS (or similar).
Sunday
Depart Avignon and drive via Montepellier to Carcassonne. Short visit, then to Pibrac, the village of St. Germaine; brief stop, then on to Lourdes. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel NATIONAL (or similar).
Monday
Morning guided visit of Lourdes, the blessed village nestled at the foot of the Pyrenees. See the huge underground Basilica of St. Pius X, the Rock of Massabielle, the Grotto where young Bernadette Soubirous saw the Blessed Mother 18 times, starting on Feb. 11, 1858; the spring of the miraculous waters, the hospice where Bernadette went to school; Le Cachot, a one-room former jail, home of her parents where she lived at the time of the Apparitions, and other inspiring sites. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight.
Tuesday
Day at leisure in Lourdes for private prayer and meditation.
Wednesday
Transfer to Pau for flight to Paris-Orly airport. On arrival, transfer to Charles de Gaulle airport for your AIR FRANCE flight to U.S. Arrive at Gateway in the afternoon Welcome home !
